Notice: ASIC Cancels AFS Licence of Prospero Markets

On 25 September 2024, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) officially cancelled the Australian Financial Services (AFS) licence of Prospero Markets Pty Ltd, an OTC derivatives issuer, due to ongoing compliance issues and legal challenges.

The licence suspension initially began in December 2023 after Prospero failed to lodge its 2023 audited financial accounts. Subsequent investigations linked the firm to alleged money-laundering activities, leading to court-ordered liquidation in April 2024.
